Is it possible to get medical marijuana in the state of Maine to help treat social Anxiety?

I have very severe social Anxiety, Depression, ADHD, Ocd, and Bipolar disorder.

I have tried many different medications for my disorders and I would like to try something a little more organic.

Any information on the subject would be very helpful. Thank you in advance.

That’s a somewhat amusing question, since social Anxiety Is a fairly common side effect of marijuana.

Other people claim that it makes them more social and empathetic with other people.

The effects of cannabis on short term memory are unlikely to help ADHD.

Marijuana is suffiently safe that you could try it and see what happens, but it looks unpromising.

If you want to try a broader range of herbal medicines you might be interested in going to an Acupuncture clinic and talking with them about herbs. You can use traditional chinese herbs without acupuncture and a practitioner would be able to do an exam and set you up. Various forms of cannabis are also part of chinese herbal medicine, but I don’t know if acupuncturists are allowed prescribe it, even in medical marijuana states.

Comments on medical marijuana:

Public discourse on medical marijuana is somewhat tainted by the necessity to make it look harmless to most people in order to pass decriminalization laws. Once medical marijuana is available in a state, everyone who wants to avoid the risk of arrest for marijuana concocts some therapeutic story about how much it helps alleviate some feigned medical condition. This is actually their best course of action as a rational person if they want to smoke marijuana.

It’s obvious that cannabis has real pharmacological effects and that CB-receptor agonists are a useful category of drugs. But it’s almost impossible to know whether any particular anecdote or testimonial about cannabis is credible unless you try it yourself for the same condition or can find a peer-reviewed research paper on the topic.

How do I prevent serious stress and possible Anxiety?

It was the first day today and I am already overwhelmed! most of my classes are AP. does anyone have any advice on how to calm down, don’t stress, maybe foods I could eat, things I could do, ways to chill out but still be able to get work done?

You’re right that certain foods can help to reduce stress – Such as:
Red Meat, such as Beef, Pork, Turkey, Liver
Nuts, especially Brazil Nuts and Almonds
Leafy green vegetables, like Spinach, Lettuce, Kale, Chicory, Broccoli
Sweet potatoes
Pulses, Legumes, such as Beans, Lentils
Oily Fish, like Salmon, Trout, Mackerel, fresh Tuna
Dairy Produce, such as Milk, Cheese, Yoghurt (esp a milky drink before bedtime)

Remember to keep your water intake well up as dehydration is also a stress factor.

Get at LEAST 8 hours sleep a night as lask of sleep is a stressor.

Buy yourself a stress ball – fantastic stress relief!

Good luck with your studies!

What are some good ways to Reduce Anxiety?

I have had an Anxiety Disorder for as long as I can remember. What are some tips to calm me down?

Hi–I have had very Bad Anxiety too. I find psychotherapy (CBT) Cognitive Behavioral Therapy very helpful at medications. Anxiety Medications are probably more “fast reacting” but therapy will give you tips to go throughout life & tips on staying calm. You really get a lot of cognitive restructuring in therapy. You don’t think as negatively about the situation With Anxiety or anything.Living With Anxiety can truly be difficult. In addition to dealing with excessive worry, you may also have feelings of Depression to cope with. Ultimately, anxiety may affect your interaction with friends and family, your productivity at work, and the overall quality of your life.

Some ways to Cope With Anxiety that I use along with Meds & therapy include:

-Joining an Anxiety Support group. Here, you can find compassion, understanding and shared experiences.
-Letting it go. Don’t dwell on past concerns. Change what you can and let the rest take its course. Repeat as needed.
-Breaking the cycle. When you feel anxious, take a brisk walk or delve into a hobby to refocus your mind away from your worries.
-Taking care of myself. Get enough rest, eat a balanced diet, exercise and take time to relax. Avoid caffeine and nicotine, which can worsen anxiety. Don’t turn to alcohol or unprescribed drugs for relief.
-Sticking to mytreatment plan.
-Socializing. Don’t let worries make you isolated from loved ones or enjoyable activities. Touching base with others offers a healthy diversion.
