should she be in public school?

i have a 15 year old with Severe Anxiety/Depression.
should she be in public school, or would it be healthier for her to be in a homeschooling or rehabilitation center?

This depends. As a former homeschool student who transferred to public school in the 9th grade, I can speak on both sides of the argument.

If she has Severe Anxiety/Depression, then all of the bindings of class homework due each day/other projects, and social Anxieties of a public school environment may lead to her emotional demise. If she is homeschooled, you have the opportunity to decrease her Stress And Anxiety level by creating a curriculum tailored to her needs. She also doesn’t have to be anxious about social situations in her high school that she could be pulled into, or about feeling paranoid that she may be targeted. This is not to say, however, that socialization is not appropriate. Locally, depending on where you live, you may have a “homeschool group.” Typically, this is a group of anywhere from 15-150 or more people who meet at specific times and go on fieldtrips, and other social activities. Being socially active at the school I currently attend, I must say that I miss being a part of my local homeschool group and a lot of the friends that I made in it.

Overall, homeschooling, and perhaps enrolling in a few community college courses in her Junior year, is most likely the most versatile and fulfilling option that she can take. I hope I have been of some help!
